Their starters i think it was even hard to call who had the edge without tasting. Interesting didnt know her book was even out but am not suprised that her book is doing so bad my reasoning on why i thought people would not buy derrick's book is because for his final 3 course meal you would need to a sous vide machine for his watermelon pork starter and a nitrous oxide cartridges and a siphon for his matcha charged sponge which would cost at least £150~$180 for a basic cheap version just to recreated his final dishes which seems a bit too steep for your home chef. Claudia is a great chef, but she's not the real MasterChef. I think Stephen had a really good chance at winning as well. Claudia served a tamale for her appetizer. Even in the final, Derrick's food was delicious, a lot of his ideas had never been done before, and he received better comments. Lastly, both Stephen and Derrick simply made better food, as evidenced in the semi-finals when Derrick won half of the votes from the professional chefs, and evidenced throughout the competition by their Mystery Box wins.
